Foundation for Aerospace Safety and Training

FAST

The Foundation for Aerospace Safety and Training is a 501c3 organization, registered in Texas, with the goal to support research in physiological and cognitive impacts in a variety of 'extreme' environments:

  • Pressure exposures:

      • Hypobaric exposures

        • Ebullism

        • Hypoxia

        • Decompression Illness

      • Hyperbaric exposures

        • Oxygen Toxicity

        • Nitrogen Narcosis

        • High Pressure Nervous Syndrome

        • Respiratory dynamics in hyperbaric environments

  • Acceleration

    • Respiratory physiology during sustained G-loads

    • Ventilatory countermeasures for respiratory support.

  • Operational Safety/Training

    • Real time monitoring and logging - Physiology "black box"

    • Caution/Warning Systems

    • Situational Awareness/Telemetry

    • Human in the Loop Simulators

  • Education and Outreach

    • Effective and accessible communication of physiology and science

    • Support of STEAM programs
